I've said it before so I'll say it again What a great weekend! Grand Champion on my daughter's 8th birthday! To have so many friends and family there made this a special weekend. I couldn't have done it without Sadie and her seasoning of the ribs. Whenever she seasons the ribs Wicked Que scores well. We had 4 top tens led by a 1st in pork.
Also I debuted the new trailer. It was great to have AC! What a way to start

Grand Champion
This was a "last minute" competition. With less than a week to prepare, we decided to enter the Jug Tavern Barbecue Festival in Winder, GA on September 11th, 2010. Having heard about it on Facebook, I couldn't resist the opportunity to compete. Our team took 5th Overall, with a 2nd Place finish in pork, and a 5th place in brisket, we placed in the top ten at the number 8 spot with our chicken (not bad, not bad.) It was a great day with good friends.
Please let the powers that be know that we really enjoyed the Jug Tavern Festival. We especially liked the People’s Choice. It was nice to have an opportunity to sample all of the varieties of barbeque without having to stand in line forever or spend a fortune. That was a good idea!
We went to another local barbeque festival a couple of weeks ago and it didn’t compare to yours. There was nothing to do, and the lines for barbecue were long. Plus, you had to buy food tickets in advance without knowing how many you would need or use. Winder did it right! We will definitely be back next year

Congratulations on your first KCBS BBQ Contest. Winder put on an outstanding contest and festival and I was honored to Judge at the first contest. You made all of the Judges welcomed and the amenities and goody-bag were appreciated. I hope to see you next year.
